Introducing Moveology, and why Aries season is the TRUE start of the year
Mar 20, 2025While January often feels low-energy and winter-heavy, Aries season (20 March–19 April) marks the true beginning of the year, aligned with spring’s renewal. Aries, ruled by Mars, is the first sign of the zodiac, and represents self, action, and bold new starts – making this the ideal time to set intentions, launch projects, and embrace vibrant energy.
So it's the ideal time to launch our new core program: Moveology
Moveology is a deep dive into how the moon and stars affect us all, and how we can use that knowledge and understanding to improve our daily wellbeing.
You might be familiar with our programs that focus on particular aspects of our lives: Manifest, Motherhood, and Sleep (coming soon!).
Moveology is our most comprehensive program yet, structured around a deep exploration into two main elements:
🌙 Living in alignment with the lunar cycle, using the phases of the moon as our guide throughout the month; and
♉️ Understanding body astrology, and how every single zodiac sign impacts different aspects of our health, no matter what month we were born in.
We intertwine both of these aspects seamlessly to help reset and re-energise our day-to-day wellness habits.
Making the Most of Aries Season
But I'm not an Aries, we hear you say. That's ok – you can still benefit from Aries self-care, no matter where this headstrong sign sits in your natal chart.
Body astrology goes waaaay beyond your Sun sign, offering a deeper understanding of your physical and mental wellbeing. Your Moon sign influences emotions, digestion, and hormonal cycles, while your Rising sign reflects physical vitality. Even the planets get a say: Mars governs stamina and stress response, Venus guides sensory pleasure and nourishment, and Saturn relates to bone health and resilience. Each planet and sign plays a role in how your body functions, helping you align your self-care, movement, and wellness rituals with your unique astrological blueprint, for a more balanced and holistic approach to your health.
As Aries energy builds, many of us feel the urge to leap into action. But while this fiery, forward-moving force is powerful, it’s important to ease in gently. Aries season can be intense and consuming, sometimes leading to headaches or burnout if we don’t pace ourselves.
Aries rules the 1st House of self, identity, and new beginnings, making this the ideal time to set personal goals and take decisive steps toward what you truly want. For example: want to drink more water? Choose a cup, and commit to emptying it five times a day – simple, intentional action is key.
Tip for the business-minded babes: this vibrant energy is perfect for starting new projects, launching ideas, or stepping boldly into new ventures. What’s calling to you? Share your journey in our community of like-minded souls, Secrets of the Sun and Moon!
Body Astrology and Self-Care for Aries
Aries governs the head and muscles, so treat yourself to a head massage or a fresh haircut to revitalise your look and energy.
It’s also a great time to engage in adventurous movement – activities like sprinting, skiing, or even bungee jumping (!) suit Aries’ daring spirit. And don't forget to check out this month's online classes, specially designed to align with Aries energy.
Surround yourself with Aries-aligned blooms like tulips, poppies, tiger lilies, thistles, honeysuckle, and hollyhocks, in reds and deep burgundy – let nature’s fire inspire you. (Even if it's too early for them to bloom, artificial flowers or art and images of them can be just as inspiring.)
Aries also connects with the solar plexus chakra (just above the navel), which governs digestion, willpower, and inner fire. Since most of our serotonin is produced in the gut, nourishing this area boosts both body and mind. Remember, we digest not only food, but also information and emotion. Take time to pause and process – it fuels your creativity, joy, and clarity. (And chew your food thoroughly – digestion starts in the mouth!)
Aries Sun? Insights for the Headstrong Ram
Aries is bold, creative, and fearless, brimming with ideas and a love of risk-taking. However, this fiery energy can sometimes come in intense bursts, and Aries may struggle to finish what they start. Self-expression is vital, and when stifled, it can lead to restlessness or frustration. Though often extroverted and strong-willed, Aries can carry a quiet self-consciousness, hiding parts of themselves for fear of seeming weak.
